The high-temperature molten salt pump for solar thermal power generation is a new-generation product jointly developed by SDP Corporation and Jiangsu University, leveraging decades of experience in molten salt pump manufacturing and application. In terms of structure and material selection, this pump comprehensively addresses challenges such as material strength, corrosion, wear, heat resistance, thermal conductivity, cooling, and lubrication under conditions of high flow rate, high head, and elevated temperatures. Featuring an innovative cavity design concept, secondary convection air cooling structure, specialized heat shielding devices, and a reliable lubrication system, this pump series delivers enhanced efficiency, reliability, performance, and energy savings. Our high-temperature molten salt pumps are suitable for: solar thermal power generation, nuclear power, molten salt thermal storage, waste heat recovery, alumina production, chlor-alkali (caustic soda flakes/granules), benzene coupling, propylene coupling, acrylic acid, fluorochemicals, refrigerants, melamine (Tsinghua gas-phase quenching process, OTC high-pressure process, DSM melamine triamide units), and organic chemical industries for high-temperature medium transfer and heat transfer applications.
Our company possesses a complete production process encompassing 3D rapid scanning, 3D printing technology, alloy casting, machining, and high-temperature testing. Whether for small experimental pumps or large-scale engineering projects, we provide molten salt pumps tailored to requirements, including temperature ratings of ≤300°C, ≤600°C, and ≤850°C. These pumps can reach lengths of up to 18 meters and deliver head capacities of 350 meters. Multiple materials for wetted components are available to handle diverse high-temperature media, including nitrates, carbonates, fluorides, and more.

Molten Salt Energy Storage System
High-temperature molten salt pumps play a central role in molten salt energy storage systems for solar thermal power generation. As an efficient thermal energy storage medium, molten salt absorbs heat from solar collectors to raise its temperature and store thermal energy. High-temperature molten salt pumps are responsible for transporting the heated molten salt from the hot salt tank to the steam generator, where it is used to produce steam that drives turbines for electricity generation.
Cold Salt and Hot Salt Circulation
Cold Salt Pump: Extracts low-temperature molten salt from the cold salt tank and circulates it to solar collectors for heating, operating within a temperature range of 290°C to 400°C.
Hot Salt Pump: Transfers high-temperature molten salt from the hot salt tank to the steam generator, operating within a temperature range of 400°C to 565°C.
Temperature Control Pump: Blends low-temperature and high-temperature molten salt to regulate system temperature and ensure stable operation.
System Preheating and Auxiliary Functions
Salt Drainage Pump: Used for preheating during system startup and transporting low-temperature molten salt to prevent damage from sudden temperature changes.
Molten Salt Heating Pump: Utilizes renewable energy sources like solar and wind power to heat molten salt, enabling energy storage.
Main Circulation Pump of the CSP Plant
The High-Temperature Molten Salt Pump serves as the main circulation pump in the CSP plant, responsible for transporting high-temperature molten salt to the heat exchanger to ensure continuous and stable system operation.
